I go traveling late April, so really need to get my passport stuff sorted. I've got my Australian, and need to get my English (so I don't need to worry with visa's) but after filling out the C1 and LS01 form and taking it to Australia Post, they said I need my English birth certificate to get another one. The problem is, my birth certificate is most likely in the same place as my passport... we've moved and I can't remember where I put the important stuff.
What should I do? Is it possible to give my details and for them to look for my birth certificate on file? Is it too late to get another copy and still apply for a passport renewal? THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP :-) Emma
You can order your British Birth certificate here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Registeringlifeevents/Familyhistoryandresearch/Birthmarriageanddeathcertificates/DG_175628
You can expect to be waiting 2 weeks, so if you do it now, you should have time before April. about 9 years ago
You may also want to speak to the British Consulate:
...or the UK regional passport centre (which, for Australia, appears to be in NZ):
