Will be using ipad to stay in touch with family in Australia, planning on email, Facebook and Skype rather than phone. Which sim is best and where do we go to buy it?
There are vending machines in all arrivals halls at Heathrow (as well as newsagents, W.H. Smith in terminals 1, 4 and 5 arrivals), but if you can wait until you get into central London you’ll get a cheaper deal.
You can even buy a pre-paid SIM cards in Tesco. The supermarket chain re-sells 02 branded SIMs starting at about £17.50 ($25) with 1GB of data, 250 minutes of calls within the UK and 5000 text messages. over 4 years ago
Most hotels and more inexpensive hostels and b&b's have free wifi. Why not use that? Even macdonalds have free wifi. if you dont want to go in there, sit outside and pick it up.
If you want a sim for iPad (I have an iPad but wouldn't know where to put a sim), you can pick up a new SIM card from poundland from various mobile networks. over 4 years ago
Hello, i was in UK last weekend and it was an amazing experience to hang around .UK maybe a small island but it is full of surprises, whether you opt for the cosmopolitan nightlife of London town or prefer to go for hiking in the Lake District you can be sure that there will be something for everyone. If you are a new visitor to UK i would like to suggest you to buy a global sim card to cut down the international roaming charges during eurotrip .So i carried a global sim with me that i ordered from prepaymania,it provides the free sim card with just £2 of shipping chage at my doorstep. :)
Have a great trip !! over 4 years ago
