Standard is London if you're into big cities and touristy things to do, you'll find loads there! But Canterbury Cathedral is lovely, as in Canterbury itself, York is also beautiful but is right up the top of England! Where are you flying into? How long are you here for? over 5 years ago

Anywhere in The Cotswolds if you're looking for the image of genteel leafy Britain (Cheltenham, Bourton on the Water etc). Sudely Castle and Blenheim Palace or must sees too.

If art and culture are your bag, be sure to check out the V&A museum in London - especially so right now if you're a Bowie fan... about 5 years ago

Cornwall is beautiful, particularly St Ives and Padstow if you want pretty seaside towns and some great dramatic beaches on the North Coast. Also has great seafood and off season you can get great deals on cottages and camping. about 5 years ago

If you are looking for something a bit different go to Brighton. Take the train which takes about an hour and just stroll around the area called The Laines for antiques and great clothes shopping . Go on the Palace Pier, sit on the pebble beach, visit some of the bars in the centre of The Laines and then visit the Pavillion. A great day out. about 5 years ago
