I will arrive at Edinburgh Airport at around 18:00 o'clock and would like to find a way to get to Inverness (better even though directly to Findhorn or Forres) by night. Is it possible or should I better start the next morning (would be from Glasgow then)? And what would be the preferred means of transportation (faster)?
Thanks :)

I would stay over in Edinburgh and drive up to Findhorn the next day. The drive to Findhorn is awesome and you miss all that by driving at night. Best is to drive from Edinburgh to Perth, Pitlochry, Aviemore on the A9, turn off at Aviemore and drive over the Dave Moors to Forres and then to Findhorn. About a 3 hour drive. You'll love it.

Driving in the dark through this kind of area's you need to be careful with deer and other wildlife on roads.
