I am thinking of a fall trip to London from the USA. To save money, I would like to stay in a hostel but I don't want to drag my luggage with me as I don't wish to rent a car. Is there any place to store one suitcase at a typical hostel or do I need another option. I don't want to lug a backpack.
The YHA at Kings Cross / St Pancras is close to the tube station and has luggage lockers for £2 to store average size luggage or £3 for enormous bags. Highly recommend the St Pancras YHA......the £4 breakfast basket is great value and the hostel was renovated in the last couple of years. about 7 years ago
Most hostels have a free luggage lock-up where you can keep a bag. It's often just a room that the staff access with a key. Or sometimes they give you the key to get your stuff in and out which is less safe. I've also been in hostels that have their own lockers for rent. Maybe drop an email to one you like the look of and ask them directly about 7 years ago
I have stayed in many YHA hostels and they are always OK to store a luggage. Contact YHA directly (www.yha.org.uk).
I agree with Peter, YHA at St Pancras is one of the best in London.
