My husband & I are going to Scotland this week. We are planning to bring our folding bikes but I'm wondering if we'll use them. It looks cold and don't know if Kilmarnock, Ayr and nearby smaller towns have bike paths or lanes in the roads. This is a family history trip so expect to walk/ride around neighborhoods and historical sites. We're staying at Turnberry which looks like it has lovely grounds and trails to the sea to ride on. We're 61,healthy. Well also have a car but often find parking is expensive and limited. Advice welcome.

Well I'll answer my own question now that we're back. Yes, bikes are wonderful in Scotland. Not too cold but layer clothes. Bikes enabled us to see a lot more and 'wander' around more efficiently. almost 8 years ago
