We would like to do a trip to London but don't know whether or not to do just London or to combine it with a a little trip to Paris as well. Don't know if there is enough to do for a 10 day trip to London or if London and Parsi should be done separately? Also is October a good time to go?

Paris, which isn't under the influence of the warming Gulf Stream can be very chilly in October. If I were you I'd aim to do my trip more in September if you want to keep it at that time of year.

Regarding whether you should do just one or both cities it depends on how indepth you want to do it, a good musemn could take up a whole day. However if you just want a whirlwind flavour of the main sights 10 days should be enough to fit both cities in. Try to be up early in the morning so you can pack as much as you can into each day. almost 7 years ago

There is more than enough to do in both cities, so I would have settled for one of them. You loose the best of a day traveling, and you also need to find your way around in both places. almost 7 years ago
