Camping in Scotland
Hi, me and my friend want to go to Scotland next summer. We want to explore as much as possible. Our plan is to travel with a backpack and sleeping in a tent whenever it's necessary. My question is, can we build a tent anywhere we want or do we need to be in a camp? I mean is there some sort of patrol which can give us fine for camping anywhere we want?! I hope you get my point :-) Thanks

Hi, you can't just camp wherever you want. The best advice I can give you is to contact the Tourist Boards as Scotland is bigger than you probably think. It is a beautiful country. I am from Scotland but now live in Western Australia. Hope this helps and you have a great holiday. about 7 years ago

Check out some of the links here regarding " wild " camping in Scotland, I've never been bothered by anyone so as long as you behave responsibly I don't think you should have any problems, enjoy your trip :)
