Hi! We are two girlfriends going to India and doing a stopover in Dubai for two days and a half (we arrive at Tuesday at 6.30am and leave Thursday at 3pm)at the beginning of November. We are looking for a nice (budget) hotel in a nice area and for the places that we must visit.
I read some really bad reviews about some hotels and we were thinking on just going to the holiday inn.
And, do you recommend the hop on hop off bus?

Ladies not sure you want to do buses in Dubai - being only two girls.. Taxi is not that very expensive. Must go - the tower in the shopping mall, the most high globally now, and desert / dun a driving trip on 4x4 jeeps. about 9 years ago

The hop on hop off bus is interesting if you want an overview of the city. There is an airco and outside section. We switched from time to time between both sections. It's not that cheap, however, so if you use it, use it as much as possible. about 9 years ago

hey!! you must try the desert safari and since you are going there in november, it wont be much hot too!
also since its only a two day visit, you should see the famous architecture of dubai whch includes, burjkhalifa, burj alarab, dubai mall and jumaira beach.
last year i gota package from yatra . com, my travel company and it was a 7 day trip. we had a blast go9ng to these places and i would advice you to extend your trip if possible. less than a minute ago over 8 years ago

Agree with most of the above. The hop on bus is nice but you can easily get yourself around with local busses - not scarey at all and they have a section at the front for only women - as well as using the metro and taxis.

November is a great time to visit as its much cooler during the day and not sticky. Agree that you should see the usual landmarks such as Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab but this is best viewed from somewhere like the balcony at Qasr Hotel so you get the full view, the Creek and if you like shopping then pick one Mall - I prefer Mall of the Emirates.

For places to stay, check out the hotels and aparthotels based in Barsha - the Holiday Inn is handy and you can walk to the mall and to the metro.

A half day desert safari is great and you get to see the dunes and would end up at a safari camp with traditional food, dancing etc, but it would take a huge chunk out of your stay. Alternatively you could ask a taxi to take you out on the Hatta Road and see the dunes for yourselves. Depends if you only want to look and see them (and camels) or drive them.

For a hotel very close to the airport then try Premier Inn. over 8 years ago
