I am going to be working onsite in Dubai for several months as part of an executive-level position. I'm normally based in the tropics (Hawai'i, Southeast Asia, Southern India) and most of my suits are light and white. Will that go over in Dubai, or do I need to be more conservative and go with navy and black? I'll be working with senior level individuals there as well as members from the ruling families.

I would suggest that you go with dark suits - grey, black, navy etc, rather than the white option. Whilst it is very hot here, we are not really "tropical". I do know women who sometimes wear white linen trousers to work, but its few and far between, to be honest. Dark and conservative is best.

Just an FYI - your office is bound to be chilled to within a degree or two of freezing and whilst outside is hot/muggy/humid etc, the dash from the A/C car to the A/C office is bearable in a proper suit. almost 7 years ago

DARK SHADES WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE AT WORK..THOUGH MANY WEAR LIGHT COLOURED SUITS HERE TOO. almost 7 years ago
