Hi, is it worth spending my only day in Abu Dhabi in the Ferrari theme park? If not, pls, what's the best places to go? Tks for your help!
Ferrari theme park
WOAH! There is definitely a lot more to do in Abu Dhabi than Ferrari World, and I havee heard mixed reviews about it as a destination. Why not hire a taxi for the morning, and get him to drive you out to the Grand Mosque (Sheikh Zayed Mosque)? It will cost around US$30 for the taxi to drive you there and wait while you explore, and the architecture, design and carpets are just amazing. Also, the corniche beach is really beautiful with a bunch of neat little restaurants along the waterfront! Lastly, make your way to Emirates Palace, the most exquisite hotel in Abu Dhabi and check out their amazing lobby features before taking high tea in their restaurant. Lots to see! almost 8 years ago
It would be a shame to come to Abu Dhabi and only go to Ferrari World.
If you do go to FW, then other things to do in the same area would be to visit Yas Marina Circuit and the Yas Hotel, head and do go-karting at Yas although its way too hot at the moment or visit http://www.saadiyat.ae/en/cultural/art-in-abu-dhabi.html which is nearby for some culture.
In down town Abu Dhabi, you have the Mosque http://www.visitabudhabi.ae/en/what.to.do/mosques.and.other.places.of.worship/sh.zayed.mosque.aspx or check out whats on at the http://www.adach.ae/en/.
The main beach is nice (access from traffic lights at the bottom of 30th street and Corniche) and the restaurants are fine. Its a nice place to grab a coffee and watch the sun set.
If you are adventurous, you could do a desert safari, go on a fishing trip, hire a jet ski, swim, cycle...pretty much anything that you wanted.
Just for info, not sure when you are coming, but its Ramadan until the end of August so its hot, no drinking or eating in public is allowed during sun rise to sun set and lots of shops will shut in the afternoon but reopen in the evening. Bars and restaurants will be open and alcohol is available, but live music isnt.
Hope this helps. almost 8 years ago
