Since summer's approaching I'd like to know what other people in Dubai do when they're not working? Anything fun, relaxing, doesn't involve sweltering in the heat and is generally a must-see or must-do!

Go to Jumeirah Beach and unwind. Go for a Desert Safari in the evening. Take a walk in Deira in the Souk. almost 9 years ago

Hi Manoj, thank you for your suggestions.

I've grown up in Dubai and have done all the things you mention above :) I'm starting to think I've seen and done it all in Dubai - except for riding the Abra! I love the Spice Souq in Deira - it's a great place to go to if you're into photography or are feeling nostalgic for the Old Dubai.

I was hoping people would share some of their secret/quiet/fun/undiscovered spots in Dubai. almost 9 years ago

Unwind in Dubai - this would be quite hard surely? Dubai is The Glitz Town and is based on tourism, buzz, bright lights and fun?

The things I would probably do would be to hire an abra and cruise the creek, hire a boat and head out to sea for some fishing, take a 4x4 and join a trip out into the desert, hit the pools at Hatta.

But, as you know, summer is too hot to be doing a lot of these things. To avoid the heat, you have to stay indoors in the AC so perhaps visit one of the new art galleries or the museum. almost 9 years ago

Go to khorfakan and stay atone of the resorts that offers beach bungalows. It's cheap and very relaxing... over 8 years ago
