Etihad - any good?

almost 12 years ago about United Arab Emirates

Has anyone flown with Etihad before? Are they any good? How do they compare to Singapore Airlines, or Thai Air for example?

Etihad had a fair bit of publicity last year due to its dealings with 3 first class Australian passengers. Check google with "etihad first class drunk jail" ..... or some discussion at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/archive/t-699846.html almost 12 years ago

Etihad is very good - competing with Emirates in terms of facilities and comfort. I would definitely fly with them again - particularly as my dughter lives in Abu Dhabi. almost 12 years ago

Etihad is the new kid on the block and does offer a pretty good fleet and service. Had a bad experience getting bumped off their flight due to terrible ground handling once...but can't complain about the quality of flights (have flown short haul and long haul) over 11 years ago

Etihad business class has just won an annual award for being the best business class. I like Etihad but for me their routings dont always work - when they open direct flights to Scotland, then I will switch from Emirates.

I flew a few times in economy with Etihad and have been bumped off one flight and experienced delays with another, but that can happen with any airline. On board the service is fine. over 11 years ago

I would prefer Emirates if I am flying through or into the middle east, because it is based out of Dubai International Airport which has got every facilities we need. The airport and the airline is just awesome. I suggest everyone to prefer Dubai International Airport if you have a transit route. almost 11 years ago

@Dave - Abu Dhabi airport is much smaller, I will agree, but Dubai airport during a busy time is a nightmare!! The queues, the people, the lounges full, duty free areas so busy...yuck!

Abu Dhabi airport has just opened a new terminal for Etihad flights and this makes it a very calm and quiet place to travel from. If I had my choice, I would fly Emirates but out of Abu Dhabi!! over 10 years ago
