Housing in Abu dhabi is tricky. It totally depends on your budget and how close you want to be to the city centre. Check the new housing projects in Al Raha area, Al Dar, And Al Reef or Madinat Khalifa if you don't mind a bit of driving. If you chose to live downtown try Khalidya area, Airport road or Muroor Road. Good luck! over 6 years ago

The housing situation is much better than it was, and you will have more choices for your money, especially if you do not want to live in down town Abu Dhabi.

I would look at where you work or what your day entails. For example, if you work in downtown but you spend time going to Dubai, you may wish to live somewhere like Khalifa Park so that you have easy access to both Salam Street to get you into town, and Khalifa Bridge to get you out of Abu Dhabi.

For cost purposes, the further out you are, the cheaper it is, so Mohamed Bin Zayed City has studios starting from 20,000AED a year. Khalifa A has reasonably priced housing as does Al Reef, but you are trading location for cost. The closer you get to downtown, the more it costs so places like Bateen or Khalidiya are much more expensive.

A lot of people are opting to move further out to avoid the Mawaqif parking thats coming in - its expensive per day to park and soon, all the Tourist Club area as well as Khalidya will cost to park, so bear that in mind.

The best thing to do is come and stay for a while and look at the areas when you get here. over 6 years ago
