My wife and I were in Kiev this past May. She would regularly walk about and take taxis on her own while I was in meetings. The central city, independence square, the parliament area, the various cathedrals, churches and noteworthy sights were all in safe areas. We didn't experience any problems, and in fact were met with nothing but warm, friendly and helpful people. over 8 years ago

I'll second that, but pay attention at the independencesquare and the main Road (cant remember the name, starts with a K) after Dark. Many women are out waiting for a "friend" - no need to be mistanken for somebody seeking companionship :-)

Enjoy your stay ...... over 8 years ago

"(cant remember the name, starts with a K)" - It's a Khreshatik str. The main street in Kiev. I would also recommend to visit a Podol district (Sagaydachnogo str. and so on), and Pirogovo (it's a huge Ukrainian old village museum)!
Me and my wife can make for you a small trip by the center of Kiev for free (but in a weekend). over 7 years ago
