Not hotel, hostel. Or a very cheap hotel. I don't have a budget specifically for the accommodation, but I'll be there for five days and want to spend only about 200 USD the whole time. about 9 years ago

Last december, I stayed 3 nights in Istambul with my girlfriend at the Esans Hotel. Very well located, clean, comfortable, helpful staff and surprisingly inexpensive. It's not a hostel, indeed a small place family runned by a young couple. The owners themselves joined us out to eat and visit places, what was very nice 'cause we got to know places off the tourist circuit. I don't know if I'm allowed to write a hotel website down here, but it won't be hard for you to find it at tripadvisor, if you think it suits you. And have a nice trip. about 9 years ago

Hostels are not popular in Turkey i only stayed once but sorry i cant find the name, if you visit the istiklal street and check the streets on your right you'll see some hostels but be careful with that streets
Thing is,you should go to ortaköy for a breakfast or a beer at night, go to besiktas to see dolmabahce palace, also sultanahmet square and ayasofya mosque are famous tourictic places. You should try the local foods in kebap restaurants about 9 years ago

The Side (seeday) has some cheaper rooms and then there is a whole backpacker street in Sultanahmet. There are plenty of things to see and do just by wandering around the streets between there and the ferry area. You don't need to spend a lot of money if you are on a tight budget. about 9 years ago

Taksim has hostels. It's also the place to go for nightlife. Old town has blue mosque (free) grand bazaar, hagia Sophia, topkapia palace, and the underground aqueducts Dolmabache Palace was my favorite and around 11 they perform an ottoman war march. about 9 years ago

    Hello Elliott,

Hagia Sophia Museum, Underground Cistern, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar are among the must see places, they are all situated in Sultanahmet area.

`Sultanahmet Koftecisi` is a well known meatball restaurant also in the same area, which you should definitely experience.

For accomodation: Hotel Empress Zoe (in Sultanahmet district) is a good option or a more reasonable option (pricewise) would be `Feronya Hotel` in Taksim district.

We hope you enjoy your stay in Istanbul.
