Turkey is an amazing place to visit. Istanbul is a lovely city. Pamukkale is exotic, Ephesus is worthile and you can´t miss Capadocia. There are some low cost airlines there, so you can have a look at the flights. We did it by bus, on our own (no tours) and it was easy. But it depends on how much time you wanna spend searching flights, timetables, day trips, accomodation, etc.

September is a lovely time to be visiting Turkey. The weather is cooling down a a little, and the tourists are not so many.

I would suggest that you could do it on your own. The bus network is easy and cheap to do - especially if you do the overnight bus as you will save on accommodation costs. Flying is an option, especially to cover huge distances, but its not as cheap as the bus.

Two weeks isnt that long so plan where and what you want to see. I would suggest a few days in Istanbul, then perhaps fly to Cappadocia, then bus or fly to Antalya for another couple of days. If you have time, perhaps visit some of the interesting places between Anatalya and Fethiye before heading up Efes, Dalyan, etc.

Have fun. over 7 years ago

2 weeks is all you have? That will be hard to see everything. It is one of those countries that would be difficult to see everything in 2 weeks. Kind of like India, or Egypt are. almost 3 years ago

I took an Overseas Adventure Travel tour last summer for two weeks and really loved every minute. It was the first time I have ever joined a tour. It was called "Turkey's Magical Hideaways" and included all travel, most meals, several days in Istanbul, visits to Ephesus, an Archaeological Museum nearby, four nights on a 90 foot Gulet (yacht), with hikes in the day to other Ancient sites, a fabulous bus ride through the Taurus Mountains to Konya, then on to Cappadocia (with optional hot air balloon ride). Our guide was excellent and the group was just 10 people. almost 3 years ago
