There is the occasional raid on protesters gathered in or associated with the Gezi Park protest - so, as always, avoid pubic gatherings and demonstrations (especially in that area).
The region bordering Syria has been a hot spot for a while, and is getting red hot now. latest information around is that Turkey is preparing for a possible chemical weapons attack across the border. Fortunately, that region is a long way from where most tourists visit.

And don't forget to dress conservatively to show your respect for Turkish culture. No tight clothing, no cleavage, cover your shoulders (no tank tops), and, ideally, cover your knees too (certainly no short shorts). Bring a scarf to put over your head when entering a mosque. over 6 years ago

I would suggest you not to go know, you should first see what is the situation going on presently there and accordingly plan, one of my friend named Camilla went last November and it was safe that time, so you should also see and plan accordingly. If you want then you can ask her about her experience http://camilla.com.au/.
