Can someone recommend a good hotel in Bangkok?
Nothing over the top, but clean, comfortable and well-situated.

Ive stayed at Bossotel inn one time, http://www.bossotelinn.com/room.htm
I also lived one week in Chinatown on White Orchid
http://www.bangkok.com/white-orchid-hotel/
both are comortable, but the Bossotel is newer. Had some problems with a noisy refrigerator, they fixed it the day before i leave the hotel. almost 12 years ago -
Got a last minute bargain at this place:
Legacy Suites Bangkok
12 Sukhumvit Soi 29, 10110 Bangkok
http://www.legacybangkok.com/
In a quite side street off Sukhumvit - down the road from Nana, but not at all seedy. From memory, I think we paid around a little under £40 for an absolutely stunning room with King Size bed, flatscreen tv, dvd, kitchenette and sitting area. Such a treat for a couple of days relaxation before heading home. Try booking.com for a good rate. almost 12 years agoAnswered by Renee Woodhouse viaTravellr.com

I stayed at Windsor Suites at about au$100 but I think that if you are travelling around town a spot close to the "Sky Train" is best.
Its not expensive and its air conditioned and not subject to the traffic jams.
We abandoned our over hot taxi during a gridlock and got back to the hotel in a few minutes on the sky train.
We stayed in China Town on another trip and found it difficult to catch a hotel taxi to the destination we wanted. Everthing was aparently "closed" and the drivers would only take us to their commision paying friends.
We had to walk to the main road and hail a passing taxi. almost 12 years ago -
This definently wouldn't be over the top, but if you're looking for a clean hotel, (but not exactly hostel) for cheap go to "Lucky Inn." It's right near Khaosan, a popular street for young tourists... and next to the Israeli Connection restaurants.
take a tuk tuk to the mall or downtown in 10 min, free internet is right next door at the Israeli Connection.... :) almost 12 years ago -
I've stayed in a few hotels in Bangkok and booked using wotif.com to find good rates. You can see photos of the hotel and it's location, and there are many hotels which you can book.
For a reasonable room you can budget between 1200 and 2000 baht a night. If you are paying more than this, then I think you are paying too much.
I would recommend looking for places with roof-top pools, as it's great fun relaxing on the roof in the pool, having a beer, and looking out over the Bangkok skyline.
I recommend the Sukhumvit area - it's quite nice (near a lot of shopping centres, the metro stations, and a few of the more interesting 'evening' areas). I've also stayed in Chinatown which has some great night markets, but is less convenient.
If you want the 'backpacker' experience then head for Kao Sahn road where you can pay 500 - 800 baht a night for a room - BUT - be prepared for a circus all day long of people trying to sell you tailored suits, DVDs, t-shirts, tuk-tuks, and othe wares. It's a fun party strip but not a place you can stay for more than a few days. If you stay in this area I recommend D&D inn (it's on Kao San road) as it has good rooms and a rooftop pool. Get there before 11am to get in the line to check in! almost 12 years ago -
I've booked into Lub D next week, I'll let you know how it is. In the Silom area, apparently one of the top new hostels/hotels to stay at in the whole wide woooooooorld! almost 12 years ago

Sivalai Place was a really good place to stay in Bangkok.
http://www.sivalaiplace.com
The staff are really friendly and will do anything to help you. They have a lovley swimming pool (25 m). There is also an internet cafe there.
The place is very safe, clean and tidy. Towles are provided. Air conditioning was brill. There is a fridge in the room which is always a bonus when it's so hot and when getting back to you room there always an ice cold drink waiting. It was awesome to have a huge appartment (big TV, balcony with view on the skyline, really cheap Mini-Bar) for your own. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the restaurant very good (meals only 50-80Baht). Even so it is not in the center, you can walk (10-15min) to Wat Arun and the river taxis. If i was to go back to Bangkok this would be the place to stay. over 11 years agoAnswered by Robin viaTravellr.com

I would Reccommend Novotel Lotus Bangkok because it is quite a distance from the political red shirts problems. Novotel Lotus Bangkok is also around the main areas in Bangkok. almost 11 years ago

When looking for a suitable place to stay during your visit to Bangkok you have a number of options at hand. Amongst the various options you have are Bangkok serviced apartments which seem to be growing in popularity with all kinds of visitors to the region. The talk of the town is that serviced apartments will soon be replacing hotels in Bangkok, at least for the travelers.

I have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok and lived there for a year. It depends on what you want to do. As someone mentioned if you want to be in the backpacker scene stay at Khao San Road. If you want to see the temples and historical sites probably stay near the river (but it's mostly a bit more expensive) for more variety and shopping stay around the Sukhimvit area. Thong Lor has great restaurants and places to shop and Chit Lom/ siam is close to the big shopping centres and MBK and has easy access to the weekend and night markets.

A great hotel in Bangkok is the Majestic suites in Sukhumvit, great location and rooms are priced well for a 3 star hotel. This area near the Majestic hotel has great bars and restaurants with the BTS skytrain just a 2 minute walk away. over 9 years ago

I've stayed at the Furama Xclusive Asoke in the Sukhumvit area. The price was amazing as was the hotel. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast was included, Internet and evening snacks and cocktails by the pool were included too. Location was amazing. One block from the Skytrain and lots of shopping, dining, attraction either within walking distance or extremely easy to get to. over 9 years ago

Wow! I want to answer your question but you must give me some requirements. I stay at an air conditioned place near Sukumvit for about 400 baht. What do you need? over 9 years ago

Stay off khao san road even if you are the backpacking type. There are hostels outside that area which are better like HQ Hostel in Silom and Lub d (Silom and Siam areas). If you prefer a little more comfort check out there are many hotels in sukhumvit, silom and pathunwam/siam area that are nice. over 9 years ago

Try Oakwood residence on Sukhumvit road. Around $50 a night if you book on agoda.com. Or Pantip court same rate but much larger room with excellent included breakfast. over 9 years ago

I highly recommend Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor. It's a service apartment located in the safer and less crowded Sukhumvit area. Very modern and clean and exactly as depicted on it's website. Friendly and helpful staff. About 15 mins walk to the Thonglor train station. Hotel provides free oneway tuition service to short destinations. over 9 years ago

Try the 3 star Majestic suites in Sukhumvit, 5 minute walk to the BTS Nana station and close too all the shopping and entertainment zones. Its a small hotel but very well run and super clean. If you want something more expensive try the 4 star Landmark hotel which is right in the same area. I book rooms at www.ihotelthai.com for the good deals going. over 9 years ago

Try Novuo City hotel (http://www.nouvocityhotel.com/) , its a newish hotel, it had just opened when I went, I've been a few times to Bangkok and its the best I've seen in the khaosan road area. It has quite immediate surroundings, however you get to experience the hustle and bustle of khaosan road. Its got all the amenities like a Swimming pool and Spa, but I didnt use them.... Also the breakfast is good... over 9 years ago

Hi everyone,
I have just enjoyed my four-day stay at the Eugenia Hotel Bangkok. I really loved a unique experience of an old world architectural beauty artistically blended with modern panache at The Eugenia Hotel, Bangkok.
The food was great. I also liked the traditional Thai Sala, which located next to the swimming pool. Staffs were extremely nice and helpful.
Overall, I would definitely stay at the Eugenia Hotel Bangkok for my next month trip to Bangkok.
