What's happening in Thailand?

over 9 years ago about Thailand

I've just read that there has been flash flooding and some devastation in the southern part of Thailand. I can't seem to find any information to clarify this, can you help?

A week of torrential rain has caused flooding, landslides, ferry cancellations and flight disruptions, but as of April things are starting to get better. Thai Airways resumed flights to Koh samui on March 29 or 30. BBC has some information.
Our assessment of the situation is here:

I'm on Koh Tao in a dive school & resort [http://www.simplelifedivers.com]
It's getting back to normal now - ferries are running normally again and the normal routine is beginning to return. Just a bit muddy!

At the start of the week we got hammered - very strong winds, heavy rain - damage to buildings, roads, trees, flooding etc. The cleanup has now begun. over 9 years ago

I'd also add that most of the stuff I'm seeing on TV now is a bit dated and a few days old - certainly in our case anyway. This morning (1st April) was actually quite bright, but another shower this afternoon :(
But I reckon everything will be returning to normal in the next couple of days. over 9 years ago
