Where is the best place to stay in Phuket?
I am looking for a hotel/resort for 3 nights to finish off a holiday to Thailand. I would like something on the beach, with with good cheap local food within walking distance so we don't have to drive anywhere. Also closer to the airport and under $100 per night would be great. And the last request, not near any sleazy parts of town. Not asking for too much am I?

stay at Nai Yang Beach http://phuket.e-travel-to.com/Nai_Yang_Beach.php or Mai Khao Beach http://phuket.e-travel-to.com/phuket-beaches-maikhao-beach.htm, both near the airport and both still nice and quiet.
My favorite hotel is the Nai Yang Beach Resort http://www.booking.com/hotel/th/nai-yang-beach-resort.html?aid=310650. almost 10 years ago -
Nai Yang Beach is located 5 mins from the airport myself & husband stayed @ Nai Yang Beach Resort for the day of our departure that would be all I would use that place for is a shower etc. Try The Imperial Adamas Beach Resort . over 9 years ago

There is not much around near the airport area in general, you will be bored in this area. Try Surin beach area try, " iHotel Thai . com " for info. I have stayed there last year and not much "sleaze" around there ! hotels many under 100 a night, or even Kata or Karon area has great beachs too and fairly family style place. over 9 years ago
