
Where in South East Asia can I find the most beautiful palaces and temples?

Why don't you go to Myanmar where can you find thousands of temples (4000+ in Bagan & much more throughout the country) and 3 main palaces where you might breathtakingly keep on taking photos? :) almost 10 years ago

For temples, you gotta visit Tanah Lot in Bali. It's by the sea and the scenery is wonderful during sunset! over 9 years ago

Myanmar's Bagan, Cambodia's Angkor Wat, Indonesia's Borobudur and the many temples in Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and Bangkok in Thailand. over 9 years ago

Bangkok of course, if you trake the cruise along the Chao-pra-ya rivere, you can see hundred of beautiful temple, especially the grand palace. Another place is Ayudhaya, lots of histotical temples there over 9 years ago

An nobody has even mentioned Luang Prabang in Laos or Kyoto in Japan. And never mind Bagan, try the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. over 9 years ago

Please add my strong votes for two: Luang Prabang (Laos) and the temples of Angkor wat (in siem reap, Cambodia) ... the second one is of course a must see given your question. Someone else suggested ayutthaya near Bangkok... Remove that from your list, it is primarily ruins that are not particularly beautiful... SignificAnt historically maybe, but you asked for beauty. Bali has temples that are alive & vibrant with people and activities. Each temple is different in culture & architecture.
