Not exactly the islands, but what about ENP Dog Rescue Project, supervised by a Thai University? Enrolled voluntaries velcome to start every Sunday at 7 am at Ratmakka Road in central Chiang Mai (one of the best parts of Thailand at this time of year, lesser rain and better tempartures than the isles, in addition Thailand's most beautiful nature), one, two or three weeks. Latest enrollment Monday before starting. Contribution 5000 THB (about 175 USD) pr week, you'll get transport to and from Chiang Mai city centre, accomodation and full board. Project is suitaible for "self-going" persons who wants to use their initiative and not just waiting for orders or things to happen, but of course you'll be instructed first day and later supervised. You'll assist 8 am - 5pm, and have a lunch break for 90 min. Last day (Sunday) you'll be in Chiang Mai at 7 pm. Contact +66-5381-8931 for more information and enrollment.

Suitable train from Bangkok: Train 9, departure 8.30 a m, arrival 8.30 pm. Suitable train to Bangkok: Train 102, departure 06.45 am, arrival 9 pm. About 900 THB/30 USD each way in 2. class. over 6 years ago
