I'm about to head on a trip to Thailand
I don't want to go somewhere completely deserted but wouldn't mind avoiding the huge crowds at least for part of the time.
Does it make sense to do this on the Andaman coast more than the gulf coast? Is it worth trying to see islands on both sides?
Thank you

Ko Phi Phi is the best, excluding Ko Phanghan during the Full Moon Party. Timing your trip with one of those is a MUST. over 4 years ago

Don't go to Phuket either, also a tourist rip off with soooo many people. However, we went to a fab beach - deserted at the top of Phuket very near the Sarasin bridge which was beautiful. There was a small hotel there too. about 4 years ago

This is probably the most comprehensive list out there via our friends @travelfish -

(ps - personally I'd avoid the obvious ones like Phi Phi, Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan as you've missed their best by about 30yrs. Saddening.) about 3 years ago
