Depending on the sort of things you like, I possibly wouldn't choose Phuket as you don't drive. It's quite expensive as the uk exchange rate isn't terrific. We stayed last year at Kata Beach. There were buses during the day into Phuket city but they finished at 6pm. Tuktuk's had a pricing system known only to them, far more expensive than Bangkok. If you are set on Phuket, Ranwai is possibly where I'd base myself. about 7 years ago

I would recommend staying in Karon. You can walk between Kata and Karon and there's lots to see and do... or not, if you just want to relax at the beach or resort pool. The Hilton has a great kids club facility. You can also hire a Baby sitter from the kids club at reasonable rates, so you can have a night out. It's an easy 10 min taxi/tuk tuk ride to Patong to have a look around and there's s great indoor play centre The Kids Club in Patong. I personally would not stay in Rawai, it's one of the furtherest towns/villages from everywhere. I can provid so many more suggestions... Fantasea, John Gray's Sea Canoe Tour, Siam Safari Elehant ride (I took my 1 yr old she loved it). If you want to stay in Patong try the Holiday Inn. Fire away with more questions! almost 7 years ago
