    Save up a little cash and have cocktails at the Moon Bar @ the Banyon Tree in Bangkok - Absolutely amazing. even beter beg, borrow or steal some money and have dinner at Vertigo (the restauarant next door) - You'll thank me for it :-)

    Don't book any accomodation,tours, activities until you are at each destination. It saves money and gives you more freedom! over 10 years ago

    Get into small towns that are not in your guide books. Look for a pharmacy that will speak English and ask for the local hotel. It will be local, no frills but you'll end up paying a real backpacker price like 160baht a night for 2 of you.
    Get out on the street head to the market, especially early morning and drink, eat and don't be shy to say hello to all of the shocked faces. over 10 years ago
