Apparently travelling there is a bit harder re roads and language,but we'd like to get off the beaten track. Any help?

    Go! We travelled extensively around Nan 23 years ago and had some amazing experiences. Went trekking in and around Nan, very Lao feel. Great hill tribes, although it did mean living on cabbage and rice for ten days (breakfast, lunch and diner).

    Mind you, also had the BEST green papaya salad in the whole of Thailand in Nan's night market.

    Too far? Sounds like the best reason to go there! about 6 years ago
