A cultural experience in Phuket would be the Phuket Heritage Trail of Phuket Town - find this by using facebook or phoning 085 158 9788. Take a John Gray Sea Canoe to see the special islands. There are a plethora of cultural sights to see in Phuket - I like the Chinese Shrines (http://goo.gl/maps/q2gg) see me on http://timinphuket-thingstodo.blogspot.com/ over 7 years ago

A little known but interesting place to visit is the Phuket Tin Mining Museum. Phuket many years ago in the 1930's was a large tin-producing production centre and many thousands of Chinese workers were employed; they eventually stayed on the island and generations of there family's continue today to do other business in Phuket. The mining museum features displays of life like caves of a real working tin mine model, rail cars for transporting ore and other machinery used in tin mining; right up to a recreated scene of an opium den and many images and information of the actual mine.

Opening times: Mon to Sat from 08:00 – 16:00 and it is only about 100 baht to enter which a great deal for a Phuket tourist attraction. You can find it on the road between Loch Palm Golf Course and the British Curriculum School. You will know you are there when you see the entrance building which is a splendid Sino Portuguese style house. If you need a Phuket hotel i get good deals here http://www.ihotelthai.com over 7 years ago

Taking a tour of the bay of islands was one of the best things I have ever done in my life! We visited James Bond island, we canoed in and out of island caves, we swam off isloated beaches and climbed through caves to the middle of islands. It was simply magical and I would highly recommend it. It;s a unique landscape and just magical. over 7 years ago
