Definitely see the Mummified Monk of Kunaram Temple. I cannot remember his name but it is worth checking out.
There is a lot of great shopping on Koh Samui as well (I found nicer clothes there then I did in Bangkok!) If you are comfortable on a scooter I would recommend renting one since you will find a lot of neat little places just touring around.
The best food we ate on Koh Samui was at roadside huts that had little tables set up. If it is busy with thai people then you know it is going to be good!
If you go to see Hintai and Hinya (hope I spelled that right - Grandfather and Grandmother rock) there is a really neat little bar wedged in between two rocks with a lot of laid back people playing bongos and puppies running around!!
If you are looking for more quaint towns and white beaches I would recommend taking another boat from Koh Samui to more Islands out further. Koh Phagnan is very tourist-friendly and you can pretty much walk anywhere you need to go as soon as you are off the boat. Check it out! over 7 years agoAnswered by Cailey via WorldNomads.com
