Hi Cupcake, do you mean the explosion in February?
We issued a travel alert about that at the time, have a read here:

You really would have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to be involved in something like that. The February incident, although worrying, was in a backstreet several kilometers from the main tourist strip of Songkran Rd.
The chances of you being involved in a bombing incident are many many many times more remote than you being injured crossing the road in Bangkok, or having a motorcycle taxi or tuk tuk accident.
Another example, at the height of the Red Shirts uprising 2 years ago, there were several incidents of grenades or IEDs exploding in the early hours of the morning outside popular shopping malls. From memory 2 people died and a handful were injured, but there was no evidence that tourists/foreigners were deliberately targeted.... and it's been relatively quiet since then.
That of course is no guarantee that a terror group won't target tourists in Bangkok, but that's equally true of ANY popular tourist spot in the world.
Hope that helps. And don't forget to get good travel insurance.
