I would say Phi Phi Don, off of Phucket. Beautiful island with crystal clear calm waters and amazing rocks and cliffs which acts as a buffer against rip tides. It is also a great place for snorkeling, including trips to the wonderful Maya Bay, (where 'The Beach' was filmed) It has a great laidback vibe. Loh Dahum is the party area of Phi Phi and Long Beach is the place to be if you want more of a romantic getaway. almost 9 years ago

Good suggestions from other travellers there, Thailand has so many great honeymoon destinations. Usually all perfectly safe, but watch out if a tourism operator offers a deal that seems to good to be true.... for instance this offer to take you to a deserted beach came with a few strings.

The beach was deserted because it was a Royal Thai Navy live firing area!
Always worth asking if the destination is 'safe' and that the operator has permission to go there.

Take a look at Koh Lipe in Southern Thailand, it's a little out of the way but well worth the effort. It's not another Pattaya or Phuket & that's why it is a nice spot. see here for info http://www.kohlipe.asia almost 9 years ago

Don't know about where to stay, but i would ask that if you visit Thailand, please do not ride elephants,.even if tour operators and others tell you it is okay with the elephants, they can't take the weight of 4 or 5 people, they are beaten into submission, babies are stolen from mothers, it you want an elephant encounter than visit the ENP, Elephant Nature Park, they rescue abused and orphaned elephants and accept volunteers and day visitors!!!! Thanks so much...if you don't believe me......google the ENP....... almost 9 years ago
