I did a drive from bangkok to koh samui, inclusive of the ferry ride to koh samui, it took me about 13 hrs. Depends on the ferry timing to Koh Panghan from Koh Samui you should be there in 16hrs, inclusive of waiting time.

The journey is relatively easy, there are sign boards to tell you the direction. The route include tolls. You can aways ask the tolls guy if you are on the right direction. Tell them you want to go Surat Thani, once you reach Surat Thani ask the local for the direction to ferry terminal to koh samui/koh panghan. I park my car near the ferry terminal. over 6 years ago

To addon, my advice is to get flight to Koh samui and then buy a bus and boat tickets at the airport to koh panghan. Is more convenience and comfortable. Unless you enjoy driving long distance. :) over 6 years ago

You can also get here with the Lomprayah catamaran from Chumpon via Koh Tao. Lomprayah also has comfortable buses from Bangkok to Chumpon. With the car it's about 6-7 hours. http://thailand.e-travel-to.com/destination/koh-phangan.htm over 6 years ago
