Yes definitely, as with most northern European cities it is expensive but worth a day trip. Loads to see, the old town on little islands, with great bars and restaurants - obviously great fish and must see is the Vassa museum (old preserved sunken boat) - I found it amazing! over 6 years ago

Absolutely. Dont miss Södermalm and the bars and restaurants around Nytorget. And the great view over the harbour from Stigbergsberget. A great way is to take local bus 4 around the city from skanstull to radiohuset. From radiohuset you can take a walk out on beautiful Djurgården with skansen, vasa-museet etc. Take the ferry back to slussen and the old city. Be sure to buy Tickets before because you cant buy them on the bus. over 6 years ago

Yes I would highly recommend it! I was there for 4 days in late August and could have stayed longer. It's a city that I could live in!

Try to stay fairly close to a metro stop since Stockholm is a large city. I stayed right by the Slussen station at the Hilton which was a great location and short walk to the Old Town and to the Södermalm neighborhood. There were a number of great bars and restaurants in the Södermalm.

If you want to take a look I have a public Flickr pages and have a set on me recent Baltic trip with tons of pictures of Stockholm; http://www.flickr.com/photos/jphayden/sets/
