Österlen in Skåne around the town of Kivik is beautiful. Gotland with the town Visby is amazing. Öland is very nice. Stockholm is a great city in the summer. Dalarna around Siljan is fantastic. Further up north in Norrland i haven't been but it's supposed to be great although the mosquitos are evil up there ;-). over 7 years ago

I agree with the above. Make sure you spend some time in the Stockholm archipelago, it's fairly easy to get around with Vaxholmsbolaget (the local ferry company). There are thousands of islands to visit, all with their own unique charm (check out www.vaxholmsbolaget.se).

The northern parts of Sweden and Scandinavia are less populated, however the nature is extraordinary. Either fly or take the overnight train to Narvik in Norway or visit the Swedish mountains. You will not be disappointed. over 7 years ago

I would suggest the nothern part of the west coast, called Bohuslän. Lots of quaint fishing villages ex Gullholmen, Kärringön. Very old stone carvings. Boat trips. Check out this link: http://www.vastsverige.com/sv/sodrabohuslan/ about 7 years ago
