Hi, I'm a Swede living in Örebro, not far from Stockholm. I would say the best chances to see northern lights in August would probably be in Antarctica. In the north they are usually most frequent in late autumn or early spring, and then quite far up north from Linköping, Örebro or Stockholm... over 6 years ago

As far up north as possible in Sweden and as far away from light pollution you can get in the winter but i have once in my life seen the northern lights in Stockholm during mid winter. over 6 years ago
