We often do temples when we travel, and Sri Lanka obviously has some great beaches, but what other experiences are likely to inspire children? Elephants? Forests? Suggestions please.

There is an elephant orphanage on the way to white water rafting. They have different levels so the kids would have fun. And the unuwatuna beach is calm and really nice. If you are willing to travel far by car, you should check out yalla for the safaris there. over 6 years ago

The pinnawela elephant orphanage on the kandy Colombo road is a special place. Also wilpattu national park or yala national park is an option for those interested in safari. Sri Lanka in general is very child friendly and tolerant and most resorts organize activities for young kids. over 6 years ago
