This is what I use to get a quick guide about destinations. This website gives you the details about Colombo : http://bluewingholidays.com/index.php?option=com_jea&view=properties&Itemid=264
You can browse other destinations too on that. about 8 years agoAnswered by migara69 viaTravellr.com

Srilanka is and Island country with everything.wildlife, nature, beach, nightlife, adventure, relax, culture, heritage many more.within a week you can explore everything with limited time frame according to your interest. you better go for tailor made package maker.they will help you to customize your holiday.

If you are only there for a week and must remain around Colombo then try the market, always an eye opener, also head to the beaches around the southern suburbs, also the port is interesting as well. try to get on the train down the coast for a couple of day trips or up in the hills for some relief from the heat. f you are there between november to march the sea will be smooth and blue, April and October you might find the monsoon has made the sea brown and choppy so not very inviting..better to go to the hills than for a swim on that side of the island. Have fun there! about 8 years ago
