There's a really amazing cava bar on a street called Reina Cristina. It didn't seem touristy when I was there but after google it I found this link: http://www.bcninternet.com/touristinfo.php?contentid=293

Le Quinze Nits (Plaza Real - plaza off of Las Ramblas) - amazing restaurant, you must order dessert and $6 bottles of cava (spanish champagne)
Cafe de l'Opera - (off of Las Ramblas) order chocolat and churros for breakfast
Rabi Pelau (Pig Bar) - local dive, learn salsa and drink guarapitas with the local Spaniards
Margarita Blue - down the street from Rabi Pelau, good bar atmosphere (get a blue marg)
Go to the neighborhood El Borne for cool little cafes, boutiques and restaurants over 11 years ago -
I really recommend Bilbao berria (in the place of the cathedral of "santa maria del mar" !Very good tapas of all sort (fish,vegetables,gambas,"jamon"...) at 1,65 euros each. The quality of the food is here and the red wine is very good too (trust me i'm french from Bordeaux) (2,80 euros the glass or 15 euros the bottle).
By the way where is "rapi pelau"?i try to locate it (Ask to several people) but fail...Someone can write down the exact adress? almost 11 years ago -
