    As previous answers, probably best choice is to check the web page of Renfe (the Spanish railway carrier).

    Take this as a reference and additional info:

    First to say is that Madrid - Barcelona route is served only by High Speed Trains. That means high quality, safety, conformt, roughly 3 hours of journey, but high price.

    Prices depend on various factors: time of day (there are peak and valley periods), purchasing in advance, single/return ticket, .....

    As a reference, a return ticket should cost in the range of 150 to 200 EURO.

    In any case, do your simulation in the price and tarifs section of the Web.
