My opinion is go to Seville. Madrid is all monuments and museums. And horrendous traffic. Seville is small alleyways and music. They are just both really different. And they are very far apart. Take your pick. Barcelona is my favorite. In fact, I'm going in September. Having seen both Madrid several times and Seville only once, I'd go back to Seville more readily than Madrid. On the other hand everyone should see Madrid at least once. over 5 years ago

I have not been to Seville. I think Madrid is worth seeing. Many squares with activity. Pick a central location. My favorite attraction is the park del retiro. We rented a canoe, walked and enjoyed people watching. Very close to the Prado. Also a favorite. I vote Madrid. over 5 years ago

Both cities are worth it a visit. I would suggest Madrid as it will be easier to travel (there is a high speed train) that isv very convenient and it is closer. Although probably there are more to see in Seville. There are some low cost airlines that flight from Barcelona to Seville : http://bit.ly/Qahm4A
