Not much, it's not a very expensive city. But all depends on you budget! If you are staying in hostels, eating mainly in little tavernas and sandwiches and taking the metro, expect around 30 a day! over 6 years ago

Broad question, so assuming you are asking outside of your hotel costs? Food is cheap in Madrid, breakfasts are usually a simple bun/bread and coffee which can be up to 5 Euro, usually less. Lunches would be your best bet for value and getting your main food for the day with the menu del dia, a fixed price menu of starter, main and dessert and sometimes they even include a beer or wine (yes, soft drinks are extra). The Spanish never had the habit of bringing their lunch to work and always ate out for lunch, so menu del dia need to stay cheap to attract the regular Spaniard on a lunch break. These can run anywhere from 8-12 Euro. Dinner can be had at a taverna or bar by way of tapas which can be 2E+ each.
I also had to a bakery and supermarket to buy some chorizo and cheeses and picnic in one of the many beautiful parks in the city. over 6 years ago

It would depend. In Madrid you can find cheap restaurant and B&B and very expensive one. You need to specify a bit what you plan to do. about 6 years ago
