I would recommend hotels near the Incheon airport. It's too far from the airport to the city especially when you're going to commute early in the morning. over 6 years ago

You should check with the airline/travel agent if you're entitled to a free nights accommodation. Some airlines offer this with compulsory layovers. over 6 years ago

I was there 1 year ago. I seem to remember that it took 1+ hour to get to airport from walker hill area. This was Saturday morning - weekday traffic would be much worse. If you really want to stay downtown, I would stay in the area around Lotte Dept store (I forget the name of that area). The Westin Chosun and Lotte hotel is in the area. That area is where everybody hangs out, numerous restaurants, and relatively late night shopping over 6 years ago

The Airport Town next to Incheon Airport has a lot of small hotels, motels, stores, bars, and restaurants within walking distance of the airport line (called A'rex) train station. It's a good place to go for an extended layover as well, as it's quick in and out and gives you a little taste of Korean life. I have personally stayed at Hub Herb Motel and Sky Motel there and eaten at a Popeye's and Mr.Pizza there (don't laugh, its good). Hotels/motels in the airport town are all clean and somewhat reasonably priced- way cheaper than the expensive ones in front of Incheon Airport itself. If you don't want to use the local airport train (quick and easy 3 minute ride for 2 bucks), most hotels will also pick you up (Hub Herb did once for me). over 5 years ago

Unseo Airport Town motels at Incheon all have a day-use price if you land in the morning and depart at night. Usually it's 4 to 8 hours of use for a nap. Get off at Unseo Station on the local A'Rex train for the Airport Town (3rd stop after the cargo terminal).

The hotels/motels in Unseo are near the station (go outside and you will see them across the park). Unseo Airport Town is better if you need a quiet place to stay (you can't hear the planes).

If you want to take 45 minutes and take the A'rex to Seoul Station, there is a jimjilbang (sleeping room/sauna bath house) about 1 block NW behind Seoul Station called Siloam Sauna (you can barely see it on Google street view). You could also go to the more famous but similar Dragon Hill Spa at Yongsan Station (the NY Times wrote about it). Jim-jil-bangs all give you pajamas and a locker key at check in; you simply wash up in the sauna, put on your pj's, and then go find a sleeping room or just hang out and relax in all the different rooms. They all cost about $15-20 and usually allow overnight sleeping for a few dollars more. Most have English signs inside everywhere. Siloam features a "snoring room" and 2 restaurants where you can eat in your pajamas. over 5 years ago
