Dmz is worth seeing as its probably one of a kind place in the world. Seoul has alot of palaces (im sure you'll be bored of palaces by the end of your trip). Theres a place called secret garden in one of the palaces and have been told its beautiful in autumn. I went out to a place called suwong fortress which is a city that was once surrounded by city walls. The place was ok and suwong is famous for its beef ribs. It would definitely be handy to learn a few phrases and make sure you have korean translations of detsinations (restaurants or hotel) as taxi drivers/bus drivers generally have no idea what you are refering to if you just speak english. I was told by my local korean tourism office that all koreans speak english and all signs are in english.... The truth was far from it.... I almost 7 years ago

Just to add, easiest way to get around is either subway (buy the tourist travel card) or taxi within the city as its cheap for the first kms then its gets crazy expensive... Not a bad idea if you want to go a short distance almost 7 years ago
