From Daegu you can get anywhere in the country in 2-3 hours, except for the southeast, which takes longer due to the way the roads are laid out. Good weekend/day trip ideas would be, Busan, Andong, Jeonju, Maisan, and Gyeongju. Hotel rooms are 30-40 a night, and bus transportation is cheap. If you don't mind being in a big room, jimjilbangs (korean saunas) are much cheaper for the night. over 8 years ago

I spent a year living in Daegu and it was great. Its a huge city with a nice downtown and plenty to keep you busy. Getting around is so easy with the subway. Theres a Costco and Carrefour if you want American style food and stuff. Daegu has a lot of good restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. If it all gets boring, take the KTX train somewhere else...you can be anywhere in 3 hours. I liked Daegu so much, I wish I still lived there. over 8 years ago
