Very interested in a tour of South America around Sept 2014. Any ideas on a good route for 3-4 weeks, suggestions on weather, mid-range accommodation, single/solo tours, clothing etc would be appreciated
My boyfriend and I drove around the south last year. We flew to Atlanta from the UK and rented a car. We went through Georgia, North & South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. It was absolutely Gorgeous.
Be sure to visit Charleston(SC) and have a horse + carriage tour, drive through the Smoky mountains if you can and go to Lynchberg (TN) and see the Jack Daniels factory, Atlanta, Savannah in Georgia are great as well - lots of history in Savannah. I would love to go back.
If you stay in motels near the highway they are usually quite cheap around $50 a night for a room and breakfast.I don't know about the weather but I know the south can get really hot. I definitely recommend the southern states, they are beautiful and the people are so friendly and helpful. The Food is great and quite cheap. Also Gas is really cheap compared to the UK Good luck and enjoy! over 4 years agoAnswered by Hannah Whittle via WorldNomads.com
