Cape Town is big when thinking of what to do. Where are you going to be in CT? Do you have a car?
This is something to do for the Western Cape with kids, but much applies to if you do not. http://www.safariguideafrica.com/family-things-to-do-in-the-western-cape.php

Go for a long lunch at a restaurant in Camps Bay.

depending on the weather, try to climb Table Mountain - views are amazing and its a rewarding experience. If you have time and a car, have lunch in Sea Point or Green Point, but if you have a bit longer, a drive to Camps Bay for some seafood is a must, the most amazing coastline you will ever see. almost 10 years ago
