Depends on your interests Cape Town has a lot to offer. Definitely start with the hop on hop off bus. Great value for money and very good orientation. Other options follow. Walking up table Mountain, Lions head, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Cape Point. Many good restaurants including Test Kitchen, Pot Luck, Fork, Bizerca, La Mouette and Myoga. Coffee at Jason's bakery, Truth, Origins. Watch the sunset from Camps Bay, Llandudno, Signal Hill. Cycle from Cape Town along cycle path up to Melkbos. Wine areas of Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Constantia which is closer to city. over 6 years ago

I was in Cape Town in July 2012 and received a lot of restaurant advice, which I've compiled here :

For activities, I would recommend: wandering around the V&A waterfront (great restos there!), Table Mountain, a winery tour (eg Stellenbosch), and a trip to Cape Point with a stop to see the penguins. over 6 years ago
