There is so much to do - ask 100 people and you'll get 100 different answers. It also depends on the time of year. Try the Table Mountain Cableway on a warmer day with clear, windless weather (but take water and warm clothing with you - the weather can change in an instant), check out Long Street during the day for a quirky shopping vibe and at night for an amazing party vibe, walk along the seafront in Sea Point and Green Point (and visit the Mouille Point lighthouse and have lunch at Caffe Neo across the road, with free Wi-Fi), visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, take a day trip to Stellenbosch and visit the wine farms... over 10 years ago

I agree with MJW, a stack of great things to do in Cape Town. I wrote about my day trip to The Cape (where Atlantic and Indian oceans meet) and posted it on my World Nomads blog, have a look here if you like.

Cape Town certainly have a unique energy about it, and as far as scenery go it truly is blessed. MJW and Philip both gave some really informative suggestions, and I do like the your blog piece Philip. Very nice.

Moved here in 2001 after studying in Johannesburg and traveling Europe for 2 years, and it has been an awesome change for me.

Depends what you are after - you can lounge one one of the fabulous beaches on the Atlantic seaboard, go surfing, clime a mountain, eat in great restaurants etc etc.
