Could anyone tell me how could I do to work and study in South Africa? Is discrimination a problem for white people? A young female of 20 years, does have any risk by travelling on her own?

As in any country stick to safe, well lit places and you should be fine. Lock car and house doors. Be vigilant but not paranoid. over 7 years ago

Yes, you can definitely work and study in South Africa. You need to approach your nearest South African embassy as ask them about applying for a Study Visa. This visa allows you to stay in South Africa for the duration of your studies and work UP TO 20 hours per week while here. As girlfromthesouth said, you need to pactice the same cautions as travelling any where in the world when travelling through South Africa and use common sense. over 7 years ago
