
Do many people in Russia speak English?
If I don't know too much Russian and I asked something partly in English, is it very likely that people will know what I'm saying?

Not really, depends which places are you willing to see. Moscow, St. Petersburg and in the other major cities/touristic places usually the younger people do speaks and understands english, but do not expect the same in the less traveled areas. about 9 years ago

So, I am Russian, and my English is pretty good. In our country people, who speak on 3 or more languages( not including native) is the main part of population.English, German, French, Spanish and Latin are widely spread. If you want to hear good language, speak to youth. almost 9 years ago

Cannot say that languages are widely spread. It depends on a place and age of person whom are you speaking with. In a big cities it will be easier. But anyway it is better to know some words in russian almost 9 years ago
